Introducing the neon-buildsheet-app
We’re excited to share a new tool we’ve been working on for Neon Registry: the neon-buildsheet-app. It was built to make finding and organizing Dodge Neon VIN's faster, easier, and more user-friendly for everyone.
Whether you are a long-time Neon enthusiast or just getting started with the platform, this new app helps turn VIN lookups into a much smoother process.
What the app does
The neon-buildsheet-app connects to the build sheet source and automatically checks VINs for us. Instead of handling every VIN one at a time by hand, the app helps automate the process and keeps everything moving much faster.
- Reads a list of VINs from Neon Registry
- Checks for available build sheets in the background
- Downloads build sheet PDFs when they are found
- Sends the results back so they can be saved in Neon Registry
The main goal was simple: reduce manual work and make the process easier to repeat as the registry keeps growing.
What we achieved
This new app has already helped us improve the way build sheet data is collected and organized. It gives us a more reliable workflow and helps keep the registry more complete.
- More VINs can be checked in less time
- Less manual copy-and-paste work is needed
- Found vehicles can be saved directly into the registry database
- Duplicate VINs can be identified and tracked more easily
- The app now supports both light and dark display styles
Built to be simple
One of the best things about the neon-buildsheet-app is that it keeps the layout clean and easy to follow. You can quickly see what is being scanned, what was found, and what needs attention without digging through confusing screens.
We wanted it to be basic enough for the average reader to understand, while still being powerful enough to do real work behind the scenes.
Looking ahead
The current version already handles the core job well: scanning VINs, finding available build sheets, and helping us save that information back into Neon Registry.
As we keep improving it, we expect the neon-buildsheet-app to become an even more useful part of how we grow and maintain the registry.
